Khmelnitsky, Ukraine

Khmelnitsky (Khmelnitskiy) region is situated in the western part of Ukraine. It is bordered to the Rivne (Rovno), Zhitomir, Vinnitsa regions, the regions Chernivtsi and Ternopil. Khmelnitskiy region has an area of over 20.6 thousand square kilometers. About 1.4 million people live here. Khmelnitskiy is the biggest city in the Khmelnitsky region. It was founded in the 15th century as a trading post at the crossroads of several major trading routes. Today Khmelnitskiy is not only a modern business center. Thanks to its long and interesting history Khmelnitsky is a historical and cultural center, where people come from all over the world.
